The lightweight receiver-collar picks up a radio signal from the transmitter and beeps to alert the dog as it nears the underground boundary. If it continues toward the boundary, it receives a harmless electrostatic correction (about what you feel when you drag your feet across the carpet and touch the doorknob). The transmitter, receiver, and power adapter are UL-approved for optimal safety and reliability. In addition, the new QuickFit buckle provides a quick release and a perfect fit every time. Adjustable from 6 inches to 26 inches, this flexible collar provides a comfortable fit for any size dog. Not enough can be said about PetSafe's new comfort fit collar design and functionality. The receiver features a low battery indicator light, and lets you know if your batteries need replacing. A safety shut off kicks in if the dog is in the correction zone for 20 seconds. The size of a match head, Petsafe's ASIC Microchip Chip is onboard the lightweight collar and features over 3000 filtering mechanisms that prevent unwanted corrections.
The included boundary wire can be buried in the ground 3 to 4 inches deep, or installed above ground with sod staples to hold it in place in low-traffic areas where no one is likely to trip over the line. The wire sets up around flower beds, shrubs, trees, decks and more to keep pets away. The transmitter attaches to the wire quickly and easily with no tools and plugs into a standard outlet.
